Concept poster for Stranger Things Season 5, created before the season’s release. The idea was inspired by fan theories surrounding the Thessalhydra, which ultimately became an allegorical representation of the Mind Flayer and the series’ final confrontation.
Initially, I was inclined toward a more traditional approach, closer to the official posters and their use of imagery from the show. However, once the Thessalhydra concept emerged during the sketching phase, it became clear that this direction offered a more compelling and imaginative path.
I’ve always loved the sense of mystery and tension found in the poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing, so I decided to incorporate that feeling in a subtle way.
